Scouts are the third section in the Scouting family, after Cubs and before Explorers, and Scouts will usually be 10½ to 14 years old.
Our Scout Troop meets on a Friday evening, from 7pm to 9pm, and our Scout Leader is Alex Ball.
Scouts aims to build and develop young people’s confidence, sense of adventure and outdoor skills, as well as encouraging them to explore their beliefs and attitudes and be creative. It offers them the independence to put these skills into practice at camps and different trips and experiences – as well as having a lot of fun, games and activities at our regular meetings!
Scouts are encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities as part of their programme including traditional Scouting skills, such as camping, survival and cooking, as well as a wider spectrum of adventurous activities.
Our Troop is a friendly place for your child to join, with a lot of fun and activities!
If you would like your child to join Scouts, and they are aged between 10½ and 14 years old, you can email us on scouts@northrichmondscouts.org.uk to ask any questions and we’ll let you know all the details.
Or if you would like your child to join North Richmond you can fill a form in to join our waiting list – please click here to send us your details (we will get back to you as soon as we have a space)
Quite often new children can start straight away, but occasionally there may be a short delay until some older children move up to Explorers. (If you can’t wait we can also point you in the direction of other local groups!)
You can email the Scout leaders on scouts@northrichmondscouts.org.uk
